THE MCQUARRIES’ (Chapter 17) The opulent famous COFFEE PALACE Hector stayed in, when his heart was beguiled into sudden marriage by Madam Vine. Even Mark Twain stayed in one of its 560 rooms, in 1890’s. Despite protests, and costing today 43 million, it was tragically demolished in 1972.
